Read and Download CHARLES AKUJIEZE book The Price for Wealth in PDF, EPub, Mobi, Kindle online. Free book TThe Price for Wealth. This book was released on 2022-03-19 with total page 310 pages. Book excerpt: Wait a minute! Do you really want to be poor for the rest of your life? If “yes”, then this book is not for you. However, if your answer is “no”, I’m happy to inform you that the principles of success and wealth in this book will lead you to access wealth the right way. Experience has shown that among the few winners in life are fewer numbers of those who command success – winning “within” and “without”. The rest of them command one-sided or one-legged winning – either winning “within” or “without”. Some win in spiritual matters at the expense of economic, biological, emotional, health and other important aspects of life because they have not been able to pay the full price for creating, maintaining and sustaining real and complete wealth. True and complete wealth is made up of three essential components which are: •Health: this consists of spiritual, emotional, physical and mental. •Cash-flow and riches: this includes savings, investments and your earnings or revenue. •Power: inclusive of spiritual and temporal influence. Most importantly, we must appreciate three important truths – (a) there is a wealthy place; (b) there are paths that lead to the wealthy place; (c) discovering the paths and embarking on the journey guarantees that you’ll get to the wealthy place. There are three bus stops (or stations) to the wealthy place – (a) financial intelligence; (b) financial planning; (c) financial discipline. Any other means employed to attempt to circumvent these eternal principles through “short-cut” lead to gate-crashing which would ultimately lead to crash-landing. Unknown to many, using “short-cuts” most times leads to the longest path in the journey of life.

Read and Download Danielle J. Lindemann, PhD book True Story in PDF, EPub, Mobi, Kindle online. Free book TTrue Story. This book was released on 2022-02-15 with total page 352 pages. Book excerpt: Named a Best Nonfiction Book of 2022 by Esquire A sociological study of reality TV that explores its rise as a culture-dominating medium—and what the genre reveals about our attitudes toward race, gender, class, and sexuality What do we see when we watch reality television? In True Story: What Reality TV Says About Us, the sociologist and TV-lover Danielle J. Lindemann takes a long, hard look in the “funhouse mirror” of this genre. From the first episodes of The Real World to countless rose ceremonies to the White House, reality TV has not just remade our entertainment and cultural landscape (which it undeniably has). Reality TV, Lindemann argues, uniquely reflects our everyday experiences and social topography back to us. Applying scholarly research—including studies of inequality, culture, and deviance—to specific shows, Lindemann layers sharp insights with social theory, humor, pop cultural references, and anecdotes from her own life to show us who we really are. By taking reality TV seriously, True Story argues, we can better understand key institutions (like families, schools, and prisons) and broad social constructs (such as gender, race, class, and sexuality). From The Bachelor to Real Housewives to COPS and more (so much more!), reality programming unveils the major circuits of power that organize our lives—and the extent to which our own realities are, in fact, socially constructed. Whether we’re watching conniving Survivor contestants or three-year-old beauty queens, these “guilty pleasures” underscore how conservative our society remains, and how steadfastly we cling to our notions about who or what counts as legitimate or “real.” At once an entertaining chronicle of reality TV obsession and a pioneering work of sociology, True Story holds up a mirror to our society: the reflection may not always be pretty—but we can’t look away.

Read and Download Hugh F. Kelly book 24-Hour Cities in PDF, EPub, Mobi, Kindle online. Free book T24-Hour Cities. This book was released on 2016-07-15 with total page 308 pages. Book excerpt: Winner of the Gold Award in the Tenth Annual Robert Bruss Real Estate Book Competition 24 Hour Cities is the very first full length book about America’s cities that never sleep. Over the last fifty years, the nation’s top live-work-play cities have proven themselves more than just vibrant urban environments for the elite. They are attracting a cross-section of the population from across the U.S. and are preferred destinations for immigrants of all income strata. This is creating a virtuous circle wherein economic growth enhances property values, stronger real estate markets sustain more reliable tax bases, and solid municipal revenues pay for better services that further attract businesses and talented individuals. Yet, just a generation ago, cities like New York, Boston, Washington, San Francisco, and Miami were broke (financially and physically), scarred by violence, and prime examples of urban dysfunction. How did the turnaround happen? And why are other cities still stuck with the hollow downtowns and sprawling suburbs that make for a 9-to-5 urban configuration? Hugh Kelly’s cross-disciplinary research identifies the ingredients of success, and the recipe that puts them together.

This book was released on 2012-08-14 with total page 336 pages. Book excerpt: The first book in America to popularize the insights of Rudolf Steiner, founder of the Waldorf schools, regarding the developmental needs of young children, this revised and updated edition offers new ways for parents and educators to enrich the lives of children from birth to age six. Today’s society often pressures us into overstimulating young children with flashcards, workbooks, videos, and electronic gadgets in a well-meaning attempt to give them a head start. But children are not little adults—they learn and grow in radically different ways at different ages, and what we do to help could actually hurt instead. Some of the most important learning years happen before your child reaches school. In You Are Your Child’s First Teacher, respected Waldorf educator Rahima Baldwin Dancy explains the different stages of learning that children go through from birth to age six, giving you the wisdom and understanding to enrich your child’s natural development in the right way at the right time. A trusted classic for over twenty years, this newly revised edition contains updated resources and additional information on discipline, early childhood programs, toilet training, using home life as curriculum, and more. From language and cognitive development to appropriate toys and nourishing your child’s artistic abilities, Dancy speaks up for a rational approach to child-rearing, one that helps children be children while we fulfill our important role as parents and first teachers.

Read and Download Joe S. Harrington book Sonic Cool in PDF, EPub, Mobi, Kindle online. Free book TSonic Cool. This book was released on 2002 with total page 626 pages. Book excerpt: (Book). In the tradition of Nick Tosches, Tom Wolfe and Lester Bangs comes an epic and riveting history of rock and roll that reads like a novel. Sonic Cool presents the saga of rock and roll as the closest thing we have to genuine "myth" in the modern world, and it is the first book about rock to be written in the spirit of rock. Immense, fierce, opinionated and hilarious, Joe Harrington masterfully presents rock as a movement of near-religious proportions, against a backdrop of social factors and important events such as the invention of the guitar, the jukebox, LSD, the 12-inch phonograph record, the '70s recession, the Reagan Revolution, and the Internet. This is the history of rock as it's never been told, as the legend of a massive cultural movement, one that had meaning, but ultimately failed because it sold its soul. Radically egalitarian in its assessments towering figures such as Lennon, Dylan and Cobain stand along side lesser-known but equally influential artists like the MC5, the Misfits and Joy Division Sonic Cool is gripping reading for anyone who ever believed in the music. Includes a 16-page black-and-white photo insert. Joe S. Harrington began writing at the age of 10, an act that provoked a rejection slip from Mad magazine. He has written about music for the Boston Globe , Boston Phoenix , New York Press , Seattle Stranger , Lowell Sun , Wired , Reflex , Raygun , High Times , Seconds , Rollerderby and numerous fanzines. He is currently employed as an on-line jazz critic at Amazon, and lives in Portland, Maine. Softcover.
Read and Download Ana Andjelic book The Business of Aspiration in PDF, EPub, Mobi, Kindle online. Free book TThe Business of Aspiration. This book was released on 2020-10-27 with total page 90 pages. Book excerpt: Not long ago, wearing real fur was a signal of wealth and status. Now, it’s a signal of ignorance. Thanks to luxury rental and resale services, these days anyone can walk around in a Gucci belt. But not everyone knows that Rimowa dropped a new suitcase or who made their food and clothes. Wokeness is a modern class distinction. For the longest time, brands have operated according to the Veblen logic that status is linked to wealth and desirability to price. Now they have the opportunity to flip the script of aspiration and link worth and values to their success. Aimed at marketers, entrepreneurs, and advertising professionals, this book is full of analysis, examples, and tools of how to use the modern aspiration economy to shift a brand narrative and competitive strategy, create and distribute brand symbols, and ensure that a brand’s products and services create both monetary and moral value.
Read and Download Edward Pessen book Riches, Class, and Power in PDF, EPub, Mobi, Kindle online. Free book TRiches, Class, and Power. This book was released on 2017-07-12 with total page 401 pages. Book excerpt: Until publication of Riches, Classes, and Power, Alexis de Tocquerville's vision of the United States as a generally egalitarian nation predominated. While historians might quarrel about the social sources of egalitarianism, they did not dispute the soundness of the basic model; and Tocqueville's vision clearly dominated American's sense of itself as well. A self-acknowledged congenital skeptic, Pessen decided to find out whether the facts of American life sustained Tocqueville's conclusions. Riches, Class, and Power, represents more than five years' intensive research on the wealth, family backgrounds, careers, marriages, residential patterns, uses of leisure, life-styles, social standing, and influence and power of the wealthy in four of the five largest cities in the United States before the Civil War. Pessen examines New York City, Philadelphia, Boston and the then-separate city of Brooklyn in the 1820s and 1840s. His claim is that the massive evidence on urban life of the time sharply refutes Tocqueville's thesis. A National Book Award finalist for history, Riches, Class, and Power undoubtedly helped reshape America before the Civil War. In his reintroduction to this paperback edition, Pessen reviews the critical reaction, and reconsiders the extent to which its findings are applicable to the social structure of small or frontier towns of the period. He discusses whether unequal distribution of wealth in America results more from changes in historical circumstance or to shifts in demographic or age structure.
